The firm advised a large European investment group as purchaser in a share transaction relating to the carve-out by Oxbow Carbon LLC of its activated carbon business. Oxbow is one of the world’s largest recyclers of refinery and natural gas byproducts. Activated carbon is used for filtration and purification solutions that provide cleaner water, fresher air and better living. Macfarlanes acted as lead counsel and coordinated the transaction, with the US, France and the Netherlands as the key jurisdictions.
