Luke van de Laar specializes in cross-border M&A, corporate takeovers, joint ventures, private equity investments, and corporate governance matters. With a strong track record in executing and overseeing complex international transactions and corporate governance initiatives, he has provided strategic legal counsel to a diverse range of clients across the technology, healthcare, agri-food, and manufacturing industries. His clientele includes both privately and publicly held corporations, as well as financial sponsors, whom he advises on a wide array of corporate and transactional matters.
Luke has advised numerous private equity funds on acquiring new platform portfolio companies, structuring management incentive schemes, executing add-on transactions, and navigating exits.

Before joining KMW in 2022, Luke spent over nine years with Houthoff’s M&A and private equity team.
Luke earned his LL.M. from Maastricht University in 2013 and subsequently completed the VU Law Academy’s postgraduate specialization in M&A in 2017. In 2011, he attended Washburn School of Law in Topeka, Kansas. Luke is an active member of the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA).
In addition to his native Dutch, Luke is fluent in English.
